Four Seasons 2013-2014

The 2013-2014 series consist of variations on three subjects.  Each painting has a specific rhythmic profile derived from its particular combination of media (watercolor, ink, colored pencil, and pastel)—like a crystal, its large-scale form and composition depends on the basic structure of its building material.  The titles are drawn from alchemical terms and suggest the subtle transmutations of a familiar form into something rich and strange.
