Excerpts from Toru Takemitsu's "Rocking Mirror Daybreak" for two violins

These paintings and excerpts from my recording can be seen and heard in full on the CD/DVD of ARCHITECT  by Navona Records.  I created the paintings to visualize aspects of Takemitsu's compositional techniques, such as his use of negative space and thematicization of colors and textures.  They are intended to form a virtual space for listening to Takemitsu's composition, rather than a series of directly correlated illustrations.
